Compression Socks impact on Blood Flow of seated Subjects
The benefits of blood circulation, endurance, and relief on ankle pressure when wearing proper gradient compression socks while standing or exercising are well known. However, most people do not understand why a sedentary body that is seated for long periods, also benefits from wearing compression socks. For this reason this study focused on understanding the effect of compression TXG 15-20 mmHg socks on the physical (sitting time-30 mins)) and physiological parameters in “20-40ys female office worker.
Methodology
(1) Environmental condition:20±11℃C,65±1%RH
(2) Subject:Female,5times,20-40 years old.
(3) Acclimation period: 10 minutes(without sample)
(4) Testing period: 30 minutes(with sample)
(5) Posture: Sitting posture(acclimation and testing period)
(6) Measuring point: The legs
*Laser Doppler Blood Flow Monitor(mocr VMS-LDF2)
Result
The test group data clearly shows that the average rate of blood flow improved by 4.3% while seated because the distance traveled by the return blood flow is shortened. Furthermore, blood flow rate is tripled (13.2%) when the seated subject is wearing TXG Compression Socks. It is important to increase blood circulation while in a seating position because while in sedentary position for extended periods, the body blood flow slows down, a) causing people with varicose vein conditions to worsen, and b) negatively impact the health of healthy individuals. Therefore to counter the reduced blood flow rate and to maintain health, 15-20mmHg compression socks is advised for individuals who lack physical activity.
We believe that the results of this test can create greater awareness of compression socks.
