Guidebook
TXG compression stockings are not only so-called the “slim-legs stockings” or “elastic stockings” on market, but computed graduated compression wear to the lower legs of our body.
Basing on hydrodynamics, the blood flows from high pressures to lower ones. The compression stockings create the highest pressure on ankles, reducing upward gradually and create a pushing force to central body and heart.
The circulation system of human body starts from the heart. The blood is pushed into arteries, arterioles and capillaries, and flowing back by muscle contraction and valves among veins. The fluid pressure on our feet begins to increase after we leaving our bed with time, and return to lower pressure when going back to bed or raising up our legs.
People who are used to sitting, standing or wearing high-heeled for a long period of time, with swollen turnip or varicose legs are often related to high fluid pressure on feet and worse circulation.
The gravity can be easily rid off with our compression stockings as raising up your legs or doing SPA all the time.
There is a controversy to many compression stockings products in market. The correct measure unit for compression stockings is mmHg, a standard universal pressure unit, not denier (D, Den).
The compression of the compression stockings must be measured by professional scientific instrument with the criteria of gradient compression: B point (thinnest girth of the ankles) to D point (2 inches below the knees).
Denier is the measure of diameters of synthetic fibers for textile industry. The unit is defined as kilograms of the fibers per 9000 meters. The heavier denier means the heavier and thicker of the fibers but variable with different manufactories. The compression stockings with no graduated compression oppress the legs and block the natural blood flow on this oppression region as tourniquet. There is news saying someone had to amputate a limb because of wearing 500D non-graduated compression stockings.
People who have varicose veins must consult your doctor and wear graduated compression stockings under doctor’s direction.
First and most important thing is to choose “correct” compression stockings which passed all examination of compression testers. Second, please go to “how to choose” page to choose your product according to your body, life style and personal requirement.
Yes, they have the same scientific principles of graduate compression helping blood flow back to heart and therefore reducing fluid pressure of the feet. However, varicose stockings are mainly designed to those who have varicose veins as medical equipment with more than 30mmHg compression. TXG compression wear has lower compression but meet to more people’s requirement to help them taking more care of their feet health.
We have three compression levels for your:
10-15mmHg is defined as gentle compression and designed for compression wear beginners. It’s helpful to reduce the fatigue and ache of your legs.
15-20mmHg is defined as moderate compression and designed for sitting, standing, traveling for a long period of time. This compression is tested as the most comfortable and effective compression level.
20-30mmHg is defined as firm compression and designed for workers, varicose veins and pregnant women.
We also put more emphasis on developing different material and tricot methods for compression stockings including Coolmax, Supima, Tencel and wool.
It’s suggested to wear compression stockings before leaving the bed in the morning because the fluid pressure is still below normal threshold. In addition, you can wear your compression stockings all the day before taking a bath.
We DO NOT recommend you to wear them for sleeping because it’s time to totally relax for our body.
When compression socks are worn closely to the body, their density can cause them to stretch out. To increase the lifespan of your compression socks, follow these simple steps:
Generally speaking, the leg-slim socks in market are not graduate compression stockings with the measuring unit of “denier”. These non-graduated compression stockings are able to create visually slim legs but not good to your foot health. Wearing really graduated compression stockings are able to reduce the edema of your legs and promote the blood circulation to increase metabolism and therefore slim your legs.
The muscles in our feet work like a pump pushing the blood back to our heart while doing exercise but are easily get injuries as pulled muscle or edema in lower limbs.
Our feet suffer heavy pressure form gravity and expose to the dangers of twisted ankles, pulled muscles, pain and ache. At the first stage of doing exercise, the contractions of muscles are indeed helpful sending a large mount of blood back to our heart. However, the muscles begin to get tired and the fluid pressure begins to accumulate on our legs.
The benefit of wearing compression stockings while sporting:
Flat-footed people intend to feel unstable or tired easily when walking or running because they lack the cushion and suffer more pressures compared to normal foot arch.
Our patented X-pattern support can protect the ankles and ease the pressure on foot arch.
Yes, TXG compression socks are analogical to varicose stockings to reducing the fluid pressure on feet. However, please consult your doctor first for better treatment and direction of wearing suitable compression wear.
In the initial stage of diabetics, you can choose our “ Sensitive Foot ” series of compression stockings to help vein blood flow back and ease the pressure on feet.
The diabetics should pay more attention on the change of feet and take more care on feet health.
Please refer to “The secret of health care of diabetics”.
The compression levels of TXG compression wear are configured for health care and not medical equipment. Therefore, you do not need to have prescription to have them! If you had varicose vein, you should see your doctor for suggestion of correct compression.
It is normal for cotton fibers to slowly fall and become thinner.
If you choose higher percentage cotton will feel more comfort, however, it will be also rubbing over time which is normal.
But after wearing it only a few times becomes thinner may have following reasons:
1. There is a bump on the heel of the shoes which gravity falls on the heel when walking.
2. Wearing compression stockings for running, etc., with the passage of time and strong friction cotton will fall quickly.
It is recommended that if the socks are new and the elasticity is still there, then socks can still be used if you to add a pair of ordinary socks outside after wearing compression socks.
However, it is recommended to change to a new pair if it naturally falls after being worn for a long time.
In another condition you may find a tiny hole near your ankle on your socks:
This product uses Lycra soft spandex, which is highly extendable, soft and does not turn loose. Wearers with larger foot size will notice a more obvious hole in the joint at the Y- heel due to stretching. However, this spot is not the main force-bearing point; it does not affect the durability of the sock. Please rest assured that the hole is normal and it is not defective.
Compression wears should not be worn if you have been diagnosed with any of these conditions:
Yes, of course you can as long as you make a correct measuring on your ankle and lower leg girth and refer to our size chart. Please refer to “ how to select your compression stockings” and select the right size.
You can check the guidelines inside the product box or see the video “how to wear compression socks in the fastest way”
You should put on your compression wear everyday to find out the difference between wearing and not wearing. Basically, they are durable more than one year with three pairs of compression stockings if you have good usage and clear way.
You can do some self-examination.
Check if you have the following situations:
If you had meet many criteria of the above situations, you are the dangerous population of varicose veins. You should consult your doctor and take more care of your foot health.
Besides following doctors’ treatment, diabetics are recommended to wear compression stockings to promote the blood circulation and prevent bacterial infection in the initial stage of diabetics. If diabetic foot were detected, foot care must be done well.
The color of the socks must be chosen as white or light colors for detection of wounds for unconscious foot. The natural cotton fibers should be avoid for contaminated area and bacterial propagation. TXG Sensitive series socks are most recommended due to the acrylic fibers and specialized design for diabetics.
